Life Enhancing Experiences – "Seek the Setting"

In 1974 when we moved into our home/
studio/camp at Happy Bayou, "Hal planted red
mangrove shoots (seedlings) along part of the
seawall, and we put in a dock. Just as he
envisioned, the mangrove grew up and over the
dock to form a dense canopy that he sculpted
into what he calls the “Love Tunnel.”

I often find him here when he needs to UnFold.
Many times I join him and we UnFold together in the shade of the
beloved mangrove.

I call him Hally Mangrove Seed because he
shares his mangrove seedlings with others who
value the mangrove habitat – and enjoy
the protection from wind and waves,
and the many creatures it attracts
including
shorebirds, snook, mullet and blue crabs.

This year four Little Green Herons grew up
in one nest next to the Love Tunnel !"
